PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The University of Maryland Extension is bringing back one annual agriculture event but this year with a twist.
The 2022 Lower Eastern Shore Precision Agriculture Day returns as an outdoor event for the first time.
The event will include industry professionals who will discuss topics concerning Delmarva farmers and demonstrations on precision agriculture techniques with high-tech equipment. This includes drones that can detect any damage to crops or if fertilizer is needed.
As the number of farmers owning land continues growing, organizers say this will be a way to help them work smarter and not harder. “And working with more land they have to take care of, the the more important it will be to have really good equipment that will do more for them so they will be able to go ahead and do their work,” University of Maryland Extension’s Ginny Rosenkranz said.
That event is free and will be held Wednesday, March 30th at the Somerset County Fair Grounds from 10a.m.-3p.m.
