MACON, Ga. — This holiday season you could be paying up to $400 for a Christmas tree.
However, some families say they still prefer the real thing.
“When you walk in everyday, put fresh water in it, and you get that Christmas-y smell that lasts all December,’ says Red Ezelle.
Families like the Ezelles said buying real Christmas trees has been a tradition for them for decades.
While the cost of trees are going up, they just can’t spend the holidays without a the aroma of a a real Christmas tree.
Brody Slaughter is vice president of Slaughter’s Christmas Trees, a family-owned business for three generations.
Slaughter says if you’re still looking to purchase a real tree for a reasonable price, start small.
“Get you a small tree the first year. Umm keep it watered. Make sure you’re keeping it outside the sun all that maybe in some shade in your house. It should be good from there,” he says.
If you’re looking for some Christmas trees for December, you can go to the Georgia Farmers Market in Macon on Eisenhower Parkway.
The Slaughter’s will be chopping and selling tree.. until they’re all out.
