National Corn Growers Association action teams recently met for their first meeting of the year. Troy Schneider, NCGA market development team chairman, said that with a new year underway, they will continue work to promote corn around the world, dispel myths on genetically modified corn, and educate consumers on where the corn goes, such as steaks at the grocery store.
Schneider said that the food versus fuel topic has been something that the market development action team has really focused on- working with the cattle industry to build markets for both corn and beef. In addition, a goal of the action team is to advance the use of more grain ethanol for aviation fuel.
In addition to the market development action team, NCGA action teams include ethanol, member and consumer engagement, production technology access, risk management, transportation, stewardship, and sustainability ag research. For more information, visit ncga.com.
