It’s official now: Farmers and contractors from around the globe have given more than 10,000 votes to the Fendt 1100 Vario MT.
Their reasons, though, somewhat differ from the Fendt marketing material on the series. Many of them particularly like its electronics and automatization features. Upon request, it combines the Variotronic headland management and the Varotronic turn assistant to receive the system Fendt T I headland. As a result, the Vario will work the entire field on its own, as long as there are no mishaps like a clogged up implement.
Fendt base their tracked tractors on templates by AGCO corporation sibling Challenger. In 2017, they first shipped their SmartRide suspension and the Variodrive drivetrain to Jackson, Minnesota, to be placed in the smaller 900 Vario MT series.
With the 1100 series, Fendt take this cooperation a step further. They replace the Challenger’s AGCO Power engine with a 15.2 liter six cylinder diesel by MAN. For the largest model of the series, the 1167 Vario MT, it is even a 16.2 liter MAN diesel. The motors come with a low engine speed concept.
The 1100 Vario MT series now starts with the now starts with the 11 51 at 511 horse power. At the top end, the 1167 Vario MT delivers 673 horse power. As the only model of the series, the big guy can draw an additional 55 horse power for hydraulics and the P.T.O.
Upon receiving the FARM MACHINE 2022 Audience Choice Award, Fendt’s Managing Director of Research & Development was happy about the successful team effort by Challenger and Fendt. “Our teams in Jackson as well as here in Marktoberdorf have done a great job to deliver a great product“, he said.
With that, all 13 winners of a FARM MACHINE 2022 award are now known. A jury formed by experts from 14 American and European farm machinery media brands had named their favourites in 12 categorys, from Tractor XXL to Mechanical Weed Control.
The award was organised by traction magazine. Editor Claus Mayer is very pleased with the very successful, multilingual digital concept. “From California to Siberia, we have notified millions of farmers and contractors on their smartphones about which machines best suit their needs“, he says. He especially appreciates the effort and passion of the international jury members and media partners. “They have really put the new titel FARM MACHINE on the map of our global industry.“
