A College Station man who stole 8 head of cattle from leased land near Navasota, and tries selling them to the Brazos County Livestock Commission, is ultimately arrested on a felony theft of livestock charge.
Brazos County deputies were investigating what was described as an “odd drop-off” of cattle and horses by a man named “Zach Huff.” Eventually, Huff was identified as 30 year old Zachary Allen Lindsey, who denied stealing any cattle when speaking with officers.
The cattle were identified as stolen from a bit of leased land, owned by the La Pistola Cattle Company, located right at the Navasota River.
A man called a Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association agent, and claimed Lindsey hired him and his son to help take cattle. He told police as well that Lindsey told them the owner of La Pistola approved the job, which was false.
He faces a Theft of Livestock Under $150,000 charge, a third-degree felony, and was released after posting an $8,000 bond.
