Associations from eleven Arab countries joined to create the Union of Arab Poultry Producers (UAPP). The new entity was announced in a virtual workshop at the German poultry sector show, EuroTier Animal Farm. The UAPP comprises representatives from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Sudan, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Pictured above, an Egyptian poultry farm.
The online event was attended by Mohamed Omer, from the Sudanese Union of Chambers of Agriculture & Animal Production and the Sudan Poultry Chamber; Saif Mohamed Obaid Barzaiq, director of support services of Al Ain Farms and Media Committee head of the Emirates Association of Poultry Breeders; Mohamed Abu Mahfouth, from Kuwait United Poultry Company, and Hani Rashad Sinokrot, from Sinokrot Poultry Farms.

The UAPP will be a non-profit organization to support poultry farms in Arab nations to increase local poultry and eggs production. The organization will be headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE. It will receive registrations from farms, cooperatives, associations, and research centers from all countries in the Arab world wishing to join.
During the virtual workshop , Saif Mohamed Obaid Barzaiq explained that among the activities to be organized by the UAPP will be conferences, seminars with international experts, custom training for members, and visits to shows and farms around the world.
The official launching ceremony of the UAPP will occur at the Middle East edition of the EuroTier show, which will take place in March 2022 in Abu Dhabi. Sector executives expect around 1,000 producers to participate in the first assembly to elect the entity’s board.
