2023 Farm Bill will likely be evolutionary, not revolutionary – Iowa Agribusiness Network

With the current lame duck session, the 2023 Farm Bill process has been put off until the new year. Will Stafford, CHS Washington representative, said the writing process should pick up again at the beginning of the year.
Stafford said they likely won’t make any huge changes to the bill- instead, they’ll probably just make small tweaks to the existing programs farmers are using.
While no farm bill is easy to write, Stafford said he’s confident that the leadership in the House and Senate will be able to get things done.
As we see less and less rural representation in political positions, Stafford said it’s important that we make our voices and stories heard.
